CORK Jazz Festival brought Aislinn Barry and Colin Santry together.

Neither are big jazz fans, however it was a case of being in the right place, at the right time, back in October, 2018, when they first met.

Aislinn is from Cobh and Colin is from Carrigtwohill, where the couple now live.

They feature in our Wedding of the Week.

They got engaged in Painswick Gardens in Gloucestershire in August, 2022.

Aislinn said: “We were blessed with glorious weather on the day and the guests could enjoy the garden setting at the Radisson for the drinks reception.”

More than 140 family and friends from all over the world came to the wedding, including Aislinn’s brother who came home from travelling in Vietnam.

The reception was held in Radisson, Little Island.

Aisling, who spent two years between the south of Germany and Austria, wanted to incorporate castles and a backdrop of fairy-tales. Each of the 14 dining tables had a different photo of a castle that was linked to the people sitting at the table. There were Irish, Scottish, French, German and Austrian castles.

Entertaining the guests on the night were The Stars, who came highly recommended.

To add to the excitement on the day, they also had an ice cream cart from Indulgence Carts and an instant photo booth.

The wedding cake was from Ms Cupcake Cork, who is based in Fermoy.

The couple had their first dance to The Turtles, Happy Together. A favoured hit from the children’s film ‘Ernest Goes to Camp’.

There were many special moments throughout the day, especially being reunited with so many friends.

The couple said photographer John Sexton brought energy, fun and excitement to every part of the day.

They gave a special thank-you to Imelda McCarthy of the Travel Counsellors for organising their honeymoon to Cape Town and Mauritius.
