CORK entrepreneur, Dan Kiely, is investing in a careers site that promotes remote and flexible working.

Abodoo is an online platform that unites companies with permanent remote workers. The site was launched in September.

Mr Kiely is the co-founder of Voxpro, which he and his wife and business partner, Linda Kiely, sold for an estimated €150m earlier this year. He had followed Abodoo since its conception and then invested in it, to the delight of founder, Vanessa Tierney.

“We are all thrilled to be working with Dan,” Ms Tierney said. “The investment means so much more than a simple cash transaction.

“His experience in international growth will be invaluable to us, as we grow. Candidates are already registering from around the world — Dan’s experience will enable us to capitalise on this, with regional and in-country presence and international marketing.”

Abadoo is sponsored by openEir, which is rolling out fibre broadband, and is encouraging candidate registration from workers who want a career that cuts out commutes.
