I can’t believe it, just three and a half weeks until The Echo Women’s Mini Marathon! I honestly can’t wait.

I’ve been at home in Cork for the past 12 days, and I even managed to squeeze in a run down by the Marina. It brought back such gorgeous memories from last year’s mini marathon.

This time, I didn’t time myself; I just soaked it all in: the sights, the sounds, the beauty of Cork. That is exactly what I intend to do on September 21.

If you are still thinking about signing up, do it.

And if you feel daunted because you have never run before, please know this: you can absolutely walk it. The only time you should be focused on is having a good time.

Just last week, a girl messaged me from Kildare saying she wanted to sign up but was nervous because she did not know anyone doing it.

I told her there is no better place to make a friend, and no better place to feel less alone, than at The Echo Women’s Mini Marathon.

That is the beauty of this event, the inclusivity, the atmosphere, the shared sense of achievement.

The countdown is on, and I already cannot wait.

Roll on September 21.
