Shamrock Rovers extended their lead at the top of the League of Ireland with a 4-1 win over Drogheda United at Tallaght Stadium.

First-half goals from John McGovern and Matthew Healy gave Stephen Bradley's side a comfortable lead.

Mark Doyle pulled a goal back for Drogheda, but goals from McGovern and Maleace Asamoah made sure of victory for the Champions.

Kian Leavy gave Stephen Kenny's side the lead after seven minutes, with Archie Meekison drawing Sligo level from the penalty spot.

Bohemians' run of games without a win goes on as they rescued a 2-2 draw against Shelbourne

Adam McDonnell opened the scoring for Bohemians after 10 minutes, but the lead lasted for just six minutes with John Martin scoring the equaliser.

Harry Wood put Shelbourne ahead in the 72nd minute, with Bohemians rescuing a draw in the 89th minute through Harry Vaughan.

It was a six-goal thriller in the Waterford Regional Sports Centre as Waterford and Dundalk shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw.

Dundalk went 2-0 up in the first half, thanks to goals from Daryl Horgan and Gbemi Arbi, with Tom Lonergan pulling a goal back for Waterford in the 40th minute.

It was 2-2 after 60 minutes thanks to Pádraig Amond's penalty.

Dundalk thought they had victory when Horgan scored his second after 83 minutes, but Waterford equalised through John Mahon in the 88th minute.

The other game on Monday ended in a 1-1 draw between Derry City and Galway United.

An own goal from James Clarke in the 44th minute gave Galway the lead, who looked like holding on for victory until Kevin Santons' goal in the 91st minute.
