Cian McPhillips breaks Irish record and comes fourth in 800m final

Cian McPhillips came home fourth after a fast finish in the 800m final at the World Athletics Championships, setting a new Irish record of 1:42.15.

Kenya’s Emmanuel Wanyoni won gold in a championship record of 1:41.86, with Algeria’s Djamel taking silver and Canada’s Marco Arop in third, with McPhillips gaining on the medals all the way to the line.
