Carrigtwohill picked up their first points in the Red FM senior hurling league following their win over Fr O’Neill’s on Friday night.
A goal in the first minute put the home side on their way to victory, a blow that Fr O’Neill’s never really recovered from.
Carrigtwohill were on top for most of the first half, but credit to O’Neill’s, they were much the better at the start of the second half.
But they found it hard to make inroads into Carrigtwohill’s 10-point half-time lead, and when they did, the home side upped their game again.
Fr O’Neill’s are still without a win, but missing Cork players and injuries are not helping their cause.
Carrigtwohill got off to the perfect start with a goal in the first minute.

A superb ball from Tomás Hogan put Seán Walsh in on goal, and he made no mistake as he found the back of the net.
He added a point from a free, and when he got his second, from another free, his side were 1-3 to no score in front.
Another from him, along with a point from James Mulcahy, pushed them further ahead as Fr O’Neill’s were finding it hard to get a foothold in the game.
Walsh’s third point made it 1-5 to no score, before Tadhg O’Donoghue Brosnan got Fr O’Neill’s off the mark.
Patrick Walsh added a point for Carrigtwohill with Kevin O’Sullivan replying for the visitors.
Mulcahy and Hogan added scores for Carrigtwohill, before Mark O’Keeffe replied for O’Neill’s, to make it 1-9 to 0-3 after 20 minutes.
Two more from Seán Walsh, along with one from Justin Oke pushed Carrigtwohill further ahead.
O’Sullivan, with two, and Diarmuid O’Neill replied for O’Neill’s as they trailed by 1-13 to 0-6 at half time.
Credit to O’Neill’s they upped their game after the restart with O’Sullivan hitting two to reduce the deficit.
Seán Walsh replied, but two more from O’Sullivan made it 1-14 to 0-10 after 37 minutes.
Patrick Walsh scored the point of the game three minutes later when he picked up the ball in his own half.
He burst past several defenders to split the post with a score that would lift any side.
O’Neill’s kept at it, and two more from O’Sullivan, along with scores from Ronan Looney and O’Donoghue Brosnan, kept their side in contention as they made it 1-17 to 0-15.

But Carrigtwohill finished the game strongly with sub, Padraig Hogan, hitting three points, and Seán Walsh was also on target late on as they ran out deserving winners in the end to get their first win of the league.
