Dublin were handed their second loss of Division One of the Allianz National Football League.

They gave themselves too much to do and fell to a 1-20 to 1-12 loss to Armagh this evening.

Earlier today, Mayo were two-point winners over Kerry in Castlebar.

Soccer

Manchester City recovered from a goal down to get past Championship strugglers Plymouth 3-1 in the FA Cup.

Preston secured a first quarter-final spot since 1966 as they eased past Burnley 3-nil.

Crystal Palace are through after beating 10-man Millwall 3-1, while Bournemouth needed penalties to see off fellow Premier League side Wolves.

Here at home, Longford Town and Athlone Town played out a 1-1 draw in the First Division.

It's a first point on the board for both sides this season.

Celtic moved ever closer to another Scottish Premiership title by thrashing St Mirren 5-2.

They're 16 points clear of Rangers, who lost 2-1 to Motherwell at Ibrox in interim boss Barry Ferguson's first home game in charge.

Rugby

In the URC, Leinster won their 12th league game out of 12 as they dispatched Cardiff by 18 points at the Aviva Stadium.

Ulster came from behind to grab their first win of 2025 as they beat the Scarlets in Belfast by 30 points to 28.

Connacht bested Benetton in a topsy turvy game in Galway.

Shayne Bolton scored two tries as the hosts held out for a 38-30 win over their Italian opponents.

Boxing

There is a blockbuster boxing clash taking place at the SSE Arena tonight in Belfast.

Home-town favourite Lewis Crocker takes on Limerick's Paddy Donovan in an all-island bout.

The winner will become the mandatory challenger for the IBF World Welterweight title, which is currently held by Jaron 'Boots' Ennis.
