Man (40s) arrested in connection with fatal assault of man at Wheatfield Prison

A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal assault of a man at Wheatfield Prison on Thursday.
It is understood that the man, who was 39 and from Dublin, was in his cell, which he shared with another prisoner, when he died.
He had been serving a sentence of two years and nine months for possession of drugs for sale or supply.
On Saturday, gardaí said a man in his 40s has been arrested as part of the investigation.
He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in Dublin.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
