Girl dies from injuries following crash in Co Cavan

A child has died from their injuries following a crash in Shercock, Co. Cavan, on Friday.
The crash involved a car and a flatbed van, and occurred after 4.30 pm on the R162 at Corclare.
The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger in the car, a girl, was removed from the scene to Temple Street Hospital, where she passed away on Tuesday afternoon.
Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Any road users who were travelling in this area between 4:15pm and 5:00pm on Friday 24th July 2026 and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
