A home in Cork was targeted with an explosive device, gardaí said, as they appealed for witnesses.

The device was discovered in Bandon on Thursday, and no injuries have been reported.

Gardaí have asked for anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the Laurel Walk, Allen Square, North Main Street and Dunmanway road areas, between 2.50 and 3.30pm that day, to contact them.

Anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage is also asked to make it available.

An Garda Síochána said the investigation was continuing.
