Sinn Féin support falls marginally while Fine Gael support increases

Sinn Féin's popularity has declined, according to an Ireland Thinks poll.

The party has fallen two points since last month to 20 per cent, according to the Sunday Independent. However, it still remains the most popular party in the country.

Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil are now even at 18 per cent. Fine Gael's support has increased by one point since last month, while Fianna Fáil support remains unchanged.

The Greens, People Before Profit-Solidarity and Independent Ireland also recorded a one-point increase.

The poll also shows that of the party leaders, Social Democrats leader Holly Cairns has the highest approval rating at 39 per cent.

This is followed by Taoiseach Micheál Martin at 36 per cent.

Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald is on 34 per cent, while Fine Gael leader Simon Harris is on 33 per cent.

Labour leader Ivana Bacik is on 31 per cent.
