Gardaí have arrested two men as part of an investigation into the theft of an electric scooter in the Swords area of Dublin.

Gardaí received a report of an incident of theft which occurred at approximately 3:15am on the R132 at Turvey on Thursday morning.

The suspects involved reportedly left the scene in a car.

This car was located a short time later by gardaí in the Finglas area where it was stopped and searched.

A scooter was recovered from the vehicle during this search.

Two men, aged in their 40s and 50s, were arrested and taken to Garda Stations in North Dublin where they were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Both men have been charged and are due to appear the before Court 4 of the Criminal Courts of Justice, Dublin, on Friday.
