Hospital overcrowding: 439 people waiting for beds in hospitals

There were 439 admitted patients waiting for beds on Monday, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation's (INMO) trolley watch.

There were a total of 287 patients waiting in emergency departments, while 152 were in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

The most overcrowded hospital was University Hospital Limerick, with 100 patients on trolleys.

There were 52 patients in University Hospital Galway without beds, while 44 patients were on trolleys in Cork University Hospital.
