Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Skylar Thompson was mugged in Dublin on Friday night, ahead of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings at Croke Park.

A spokesperson for the team has confirmed they are working with NFL security to gather further details.

It is understood that the 28-year-old player suffered minor injuries; however, he was already on the reserve panel after suffering a hamstring injury earlier this month.

The Pittsburgh Steelers went on to win Sunday's game, cheered on by over 74,500 fans.
