Check-in and bag drop may take longer than usual at Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport on Monday morning.

Passengers are being advised to arrive at the airport as normal, but allow for extra time if checking in or dropping bags in Terminal 2 after a technical issue affected check-in and boarding systems at airports across Europe over the weekend.

The DAA said some airlines are continuing to use manual workarounds to issue bag tags and boarding passes in Terminal 2.

Terminal 1 is said to be operating as normal.

The Irish Travel Agents Association is advising passengers to check the Dublin Airport app.

The ITAA is also asking air passengers to keep in contact with their travel agent after the cyber attack at the weekend.

Chief executive of the Irish Travel Agents Association, Claire Dunne, said there was considerable disruption.

"The disruption seems to be quite widespread. I know Aer Lingus yesterday were talking about 13 flights cancelled, some of them inbound, most of them inbound. I think four outbound were cancelled," she said.

"Everybody is working really hard to try and minimise the affects of the disruption, but it is widespread.

"In know in Brussels Airport they were talking about asking airlines to reduce the number of flights operating, and Heathrow was very badly affected as well."
