Examinations will continue at a site in north Dublin today where human remains were found in the search for missing three and a half year old Daniel Aruebose.

Gardaí had been combing through the open ground in Donabate for the past two weeks.

The skeletal remains were discovered on Wednesday by gardaí searching for Daniel Aruebose who has been missing for over four years.

It is hoped the remains can be removed from the site on the Portrane Road in Donabate today to allow for a postmortem examination.

Daniel was known to have lived at the nearby Gallery Apartments before concerns were raised by Tusla in August, prompting the investigation and subsequent search.

The discovery of the remains is expected to lead to at least one arrest.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for information in connection with the case.

“An Garda Síochána is currently engaging with the local coroner in relation to the discovery of these remains,” a Garda spokesperson said. “The remains will be the subject of careful and sensitive exhumation from the current burial site.”
