A woman has died following a collision between a car and a truck in Castleshane, Co Monaghan on Wednesday.

The collision occurred on the N2 at approximately 2:45pm.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A post-mortem examination will be arranged.

No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 2:30pm and 2:50pm on Thursday 10th September 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
