A teenager has been charged in connection with the death of Ian Walsh in Co Tipperary.

The teenager was arrested by officers in Carrick-on-Suir early on Wednesday. He was taken to Clonmel Garda station for questioning.

Mr Walsh was found with stab wounds in a downstairs room at his home in Ravenswood Estate on Cregg Road in Carrick-on-Suir on August 4th.

A postmortem by State pathologist Dr Yvonne McCartney confirmed Mr Walsh died by violent means.

Gardaí havce said the man in his late teens has been charged and will appear before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court on Thursday.
