A man has been arrested after cannabis worth €278,000 was seized in Co Galway.

Gardaí from the Drugs Unit, along with Armed Support, searched a house in Indreabhán on Thursday, as part of ongoing investigations into the sale and distribution of drugs.

A growhouse containing 260 cannabis plants was discovered, along with dried cannabis herb.

The man in his 40s has been charged and is due before a special sitting of Galway District Court on Friday evening.
