Support for Sinn Féin has fallen again as two of the main government coalition parties have seen their popularity increase.

The latest Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks poll shows Sinn Féin is down one to 18 per cent, with support halving since October 2022.

Fine Gael is the most popular party in the country on 25, up one, while Fianna Fáil has also gained one to 21 per cent.

The Social Democrats drop by one to 4 per cent alongside Labour and the Green Party who are unchanged.

Aontú has fallen by one to 3 per cent, Solidarity People Before Profit is unchanged on 2 per cent and Independents and Others are up one to 19 per cent.

Meanwhile, Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has fallen by 2 per cent in her approval rating, to 31 per cent.

She is now below Aontú's Peadar Tóibín, whose approval rating stands at 32 per cent.

Taoiseach Simon Harris had a drop of 1 per cent, to 53 per cent. However, he is still the most popular party leader in the country, ahead of Tánaiste Micheál Martin on 50 per cent.
