Gardaí have closed off the R463 between Ardnacrusha and Parteen in south-east Clare following a road traffic collision.

The incident occurred in the past hour or so close to an area, locally known as Barry’s Cross.

Gardai, firefighters and ambulance paramedics are at the scene, which is located a short distance from the Limerick/south-east Clare border.

A number of cars are at the scene, however it is not known if anyone involved has been seriously injured.

Gardaí have been contacted for comment.
