A woman in her 60s has been arrested by gardaí investigating the alleged harassment of Taoiseach Simon Harris at his home.

Protesters gathered outside the Taoiseach's house with banners on May 2nd this year.

The woman arrested this afternoon is being questioned at a Garda station in Co Wicklow and can be held for up to 24 hours.

She is the third person to be arrested in connection with an incident.

A Garda spokesperson said: “This afternoon, Tuesday, August 20, 2024, gardaí arrested a further individual for alleged offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences against the Person Act, as part of ongoing investigations into the alleged harassment of an elected representative on 2nd May 2024.”
