Bank of Ireland customers faced disruption on Friday morning as their app and went down.

In a post on social media, it has apologised to customers for the inconvenience.

Customers have expressed their outrage on social media as people attempt to carry out transactions ahead of the weekend.

"Our app and 365 online are currently unavailable. We are working to fix this as soon as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience."

They have since fixed the issue and apologised for any problems to customers.

In April, Bank of Ireland’s online banking services suffered an outage.

Last August, the bank was hit by a major outage which led to significant disruption for customers and chaotic queues at some ATMs.
