Two men have been arrested in Dublin following an incident of theft at a supermarket.

The incident took place at a supermarket in Kilbarrack in Dublin 5 on Tuesday.

During the incident, two men entered the premises and threatened members of staff while taking a number of items from the supermarket.

The two men, both aged in their 40s, were subsequently arrested and detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

One of the men has since been charged and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Wednesday.

The second man remains in Garda custody.

Gardaí said investigations into the matter are ongoing.
