Man (20s) dies after road crash in Co Louth

A man has died following a road crash in Co Louth.

Gardaí were called to the scene of a two-car collision on the R169 in Collon just after 12pm on Monday.

The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the second car, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s, were brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda for treatment.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
