A woman who is fostering two of the puppies who were found abandoned at a Dublin graveyard this week has said they are "thriving, happy and healthy".

Six puppies were found in a cardboard box in a Dublin graveyard last Sunday.

The puppies are eight weeks old, and the DSPCA said they had diarrhoea, potted bellies and tested positive for Parvovirus, which can be fatal to very young puppies.

The puppies' condition has since improved, and they have all been placed with foster families.

A woman called Dee reached out to BreakingNews.ie to share some pictures of Dasher and Donner, who are doing well in her home in Rathfarnham.

Dasher and Donner are doing well in a foster home.

She said: "We live in Rathfarnham, five minutes from the DSPCA. We put our names forward for fostering because we thought we could help with the little animals who were being abandoned or abused or had no stable home to go to.

"Dasher and Donner have been with us for only two days, and they are thriving, happy and healthy (fingers crossed so far).

"We are keeping an eye on how they eat, sleep, play etc. They are great with our teenagers too, and sleep solidly and wake up and play with us. So I'm hopeful these poor little dogs who were dumped, alone, in a graveyard, are feeling a bit safer and bit more loved."
