Sarah Snook excels in thriller All Her Fault, in a role very different from Shiv Roy in Succession.

All Her Fault is centred on every parent's worse nightmare as Marissa Irvine (Snook) goes to pick her five-year-old son Milo up from a playdate only to discover he was never there.

Marissa thought her son was at the house of Jenny (Dakota Fanning), but it turns out he was not there and he is missing along with Jenny's nanny Carrie (Sophia Lillis).

Over the course of eight episodes, which you won't be able to look away from, each character is a suspect and each has his/her own rich backstory.

There's Milo's father Peter (Jake Lacy), a rich financier. His life with Marissa in the luxurious suburbs of Chicago is turned upside down when Milo goes missing, but we soon realise nothing is at it seems.

Peter's brother Brian (Daniel Monks), disabled from a childhood accident, and sister, recovering drug addict Lia (Abby Elliott), have secrets of their own along with Marissa's best friend and business partner Colin (Jay Ellis).

Michael Pena plays Detective Jim Alcaras, another strong character who becomes central to the story.

Thrillers like All Her Fault often fall victim to the dreading padding out of a story. However, it's not the case here as the story is built expertly over the eight episodes.

You can watch the limited series, which is based on the novel by Irish author Andrea Mara, on NOW TV or Sky.
