Conor Friel was six when he was diagnosed, and now, at the age of 43, he is an avid runner with Carrigaline AC. He completed the marathon to raise both awareness and funds for Dyspraxia DCD Ireland.

The funds they raise for Enable Ireland through participation in the Cork City marathon will go towards a new €1.2m development fund to convert a bungalow in Midleton into a state-of-the-art hub.

Building on the €200,000 raised for 58 charity partners in 2024, this year’s goal is to raise €250,000.

Organisers say athletes hoping to participate next year are encouraged to book well in advance.
