Horizons, formerly the cope Foundation, is recruiting for a variety of roles including care assistants, staff nurses and social care workers.

The Ability@work programme, which enables people with intellectual disabilities to work, will hold a breakfast information briefing for employers next month. 

The event in Youghal, organised by a father whose daughter is supported by Cope, will include a raffle for dozens for signed sporting memorabilia

They say the money will be used to help hundreds of people with disabilities over the coming five years.

Katrin Langensiepen, the only female member of the European Parliament with a visible disability, said the Roots initiative was a positive example for other EU countries to follow
