The film, directed by Tim Mielants and produced by Alan Moloney, Murphy, and Tina Pawlik, is a fresh take on the best-selling book, Shy by Max Porter, which follows the story of headteacher Steve and his students.

Cork musician Mark O’Leary recently re-released his track, Laundromat, recorded in a launderette on Douglas Street. He chats to COLETTE SHERIDAN about the glory days of music in the city and teaching Cillian Murphy.

Set in the mid-1990s, Steve sees the Oscar award winner play the role of a school head teacher, who is trying to help troubled students at a last-chance reform school.
