Broadway Favourites, Cork Arts Theatre, 7.30pm, €18: A flowing compendium of iconic songs from musicals which have flourished in New York and around the world. Songs from Phantom Of The Opera and Les Miserables are interlaced with songs from earlier musicals such as Cabaret, Camelot, My Fair Lady, and Westside Story, to name but a few. Also on Sunday at 2.30pm.

Christine Bovill: Piaf Revisited, Everyman, 7.30pm, €28: Bovill established her reputation as one of Europe’s finest interpreters of French song with her smash-hit show, Piaf. She returns with Piaf Revisited and looks back on her remarkable journey with a self-penned fresh take. At the heart of the story is a young Glasgow girl, whose journey is interwoven with Piaf’s life.

Ortús Chamber Music Festival, Marino Church, Bantry, 12pm, €7 parents, children free: The week-long festival is launched with Olympia Quartet: Masterclass Quartet from Cork School of Music. There is a Rising Stars Concert at the venue at 3pm. See http://ortusfestival.ie for more events as part of the festival.

Sleaford Mods, Cyprus Avenue, 7pm, €45: A union of groove and guile, Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn are ruffling feathers and moving feet with their first new release as Sleaford Mods since 2023. €1.20 from every ticket sold will go to War Child.

Carrie & The Midnight Mob, Cantys, Cork city, free, 10pm: Funk arrangements of modern and classic pop anthems and a set that’s sure to keep the dance floor packed all night.

Mick Flannery, Briery Gap, Macroom, 8pm: Mick’s songs are fluent in expressing layered aspects of the human condition, its flaws, triumphs, and general uncertainty. His live shows are renowned for his self-deprecating humour, audience engagement and the ability to bring people on a journey of both heartbreak and joy, often in the same song.

The Park, South Main Street, free, 9pm: DJ Darren Kelly will make sure to keep you happy with his arrangement of hip hop, jazz, dance and disco.

Sunday

Mick Grave, Seventy Seven, Grand Parade, Cork city, 6pm, free: Mick is a talented traditional/ contemporary solo act on vocals and guitar.

The Big Swinging Mikeys, Dwyers, Cork city, 7pm, free: Five-piece folk, rock and contemporary cover band from Kinsale with the perfect Sunday setlist.

Grace Mulvey - Did You Hear We’re All Going To Die?, Coughlan’s, Douglas Street, 8pm, €15: Described as a “darkly funny show”. Grace doesn’t fear death. Just back fat, fascism, and low-rise jeans.

Sea Church Comedy Club – Adam Rowe, Chris Kent & Breda Hegarty, Sea Church, Ballycotton, 8pm, €22.50: Join the trio for the launch of the venue’s new comedy club. A night of laughter, good banter, and an amazing line up.

Nouvelle Vague, Triskel Arts Centre, Toibin Street, 4.30pm, €8: A playful, poignant love letter to cinema, Nouvelle Vague reimagines the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless in an exuberant exploration of the youthful rebellion and creative chaos that shaped the French New Wave.
