The 46th Guinness Cork Jazz Festival is upon us, with, as you have come to expect, an absolutely packed programme!

Meanwhile, Live At St Luke’s is hosting Projective-Smithereens-Syano (doors 7.30pm), while the Kino has Jape – Ritual Anniversary, with doors also opening at 7.30pm.
There is so much more on the programme, you will have to look it up yourself, but mention must be made of the Daniel Herskedal Trio from Norway, who are at the Triskel this Saturday, October 25, at 2.30pm.
Tuba-player Herskedal is an artist of extraordinary ability. Unconstrained by conventions, he has pushed his instrument’s boundaries both technically and sonically. Only one chance to hear the trio in Cork!

at Cork Arts Theatre, written and directed by Hanan Sheedy. Weaving together the raw immediacy of contemporary Ireland with the ancient myth of Cú Chulainn and his son Connla, the play explores what it means to be a father, a son, and a man in today’s world. Note: adult themes and flashing lights. Until Saturday, at 8pm.From Wednesday to Saturday next week, the Improvised Murder Mystery team are back with a special show for Halloween. Whodunnit? You decide!
Enormous fun and a classic audience-involver. Featuring Laura O’Mahony, Laura Harte, Dominic MacHale and John McCarthy from The Improv Panto, plus Annette Roche and Adrian Scanlan from Snatch Comedy (and not forgetting you, the audience), it has an 8pm start, and very likely full houses every night.
