Theatre Nights: Musical feast comes to city

On Sunday, The Songs Of Joni Mitchell, that touched the hearts of millions, are staged by Cork songwriter Clare O’Mahony. 7pm.

At Cork Arts Theatre, Trad is still going strong until Saturday (8pm nightly, matinee Sat 2pm), telling the story of an aged father and ageing son with a long-hidden secret. Up at Dance Cork Firkin Crane, there is an opportunity to enjoy Rinse by First Nations Australian choreographer Amrita Hepi, collaborating with performance artist Mish Grigor, this Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm.
Hepi’s electric performance weaves together autobiographical elements with the grand narratives of art, feminism, dance, the void, desire, popular culture and colonial history. It will be followed by a reception with Hepi.
Finally, a great night of craic and laughter at the Glen Theatre in Banteer tomorrow night when Frances Curtin Kennedy, one of north Kerry’s most popular traditional storytellers, singers and entertainers, is joined by Abbeydorney’s very own Sonny Egan. 8pm - all proceeds go to Brú Columbanus.
