The Weir, by Kilmeen Drama Group, can be seen at Inchydoney Hotel next week

After sell-out performances at Bantry Bay Golf Club, Kilmeen Drama Group are heading to Inchydoney Hotel with the same prize-winning production, The Weir, next week, a powerful rendering of Conor McPherson’s unforgettable play.

That’s August 5 and 6, tickets online at gr8events.ie or at Inchydoney Hotel. What a great place to find live theatre in the summer months. Well done, Kilmeen!

And, speaking of summer theatre, the West Cork Fit Up Festival is proceeding apace.

Tonight and tomorrow in the festival tent at Ballydehob, it’s After Luke, while Ham Sandwiches And Discipline is in Timoleague tonight and Drimoleague on Friday.

At the weekend, The Wobbly Circus will be on in Ballydehob, for the pleasure of visitors young and old.

Hey, these were all stops on the West Cork railway lines at one time! Wouldn’t it be great to put on a show in one of the old railway stations like the one at Drimoleague?

Anyway, tickets on the door, further info on www.fit-uptheatrefestival.com.

The Everyman is seeking an exceptional individual to join its leadership team as Executive Director/Co-CEO.

Working in partnership with the Artistic Director Des Kennedy, the Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the theatre’s financial sustainability, legal compliance, and commercial vitality.

As joint Chief Executives, both roles report directly to the Board and share responsibility for delivering The Everyman’s artistic vision and social impact.

Think it just might suit you? Contact the theatre.

Meanwhile, The Everyman production of Stones In His Pockets opened on Tuesday night and is currently delighting audiences with its entertaining tale of a Hollywood company taking over a rural Irish village, with two local lads taken on as ‘extras’ providing a wry commentary.

Ideal summer viewing, it runs to August 10, so you have time to bring guests or friends too. www.everymancork.com or 021 450 1673.
