The Beacon by Nancy Harris, The Everyman, 2pm and 7:30pm; The play follows Beiv who is renovating a house on an island in West Cork. Her ex-husband died in mysterious circumstances a decade ago and the body was never found. Tickets €25.

The Smuggler by Ronán Noone, Cork Arts Theatre, 8pm; It’s 2025. Tim Finnegan is an Irish immigrant trying to make it as a writer on Amity, an affluent summer colony in Massachusetts, where tensions flare between the migrant and local communities after a fatal car crash. Tickets €18.

 These Charming Men - A Tribute To The Smiths, Cyprus Avenue, 7pm: These Charming Men from Dublin were formed in 1995 and to this day continue to charm fans of The Smiths all around the globe with their finely tuned, energetic and passionate live shows. Tickets €22.

Dead Cult: Craic Sabbath: A Tribute To Black Sabbath, Kino Events House, 9pm; Craic Sabbath is a high-energy Black Sabbath tribute band hailing from Limerick, bringing the iconic sounds of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward back to life with an Irish flair. Tickets €17.

M'ADAM, Sirius Arts Centre Cobh, 8pm; M’ADAM is a musician based in Cork whose music weaves a tapestry of melancholy, nostalgia, and introspection, blending folk rock and indie styles. Tickets €15.

Clonakilty Country Music Festival, Clonakilty Agricultural Showgrounds, 5pm; Get those cowboy boots on and gear up for a cracker of a country music festival. The fun starts from 5:15pm with a warmup act before Claudia Buckley at 7:30 and Cliona Hagan at 10pm. Tickets €20.

Cian Ducrot, Live at the Marquee, 6:30pm; Homegrown Cork star Cian Ducrot takes to the tent for the first of two nights down the Marquee. Tickets €67.40.

Sunday

Jazz at Sonflour, Sonflour, Castle Street, 8pm; Jazz at Sonflour returns for its second edition, this time featuring acclaimed Irish pianist Cormac McCarthy. Cormac is joined on the evening by Gavin Smith on guitar, Michael Riordan on bass and Michael McCarthy on drums. Tickets €10.

Cian Ducrot, Live at the Marquee, 6:30pm; Couldn’t nab tickets to Saturday’s gig? Not to fear, Cian is back singing his heart out on Sunday night too. Tickets €67.40.

World Peace Gathering 2025, Dripsey Castle; This event will welcome respected elders and spiritual leaders from around the globe such as Hereditary Chief Phil Lane Jr. and delegates from the Council of the Condor, Eagle, Quetzal, and Hummingbird. You'll witness powerful moments with voices from the Diné (Navajo), Hopi, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Lakota, Kalaallit of Greenland, Friesland, the Amazon, the Andes, and beyond across the weekend. Tickets from €86.78.

Popscence Cruise, Custom House Quay, 5:30pm; Setting sail from Customs House Quay with Cork Harbour Cruises on board the fully covered cruise ship with a 2.5 hour party cruise across Cork Harbour with full bar and DJ playing your favourite dancefloor classics. Tickets €70.

Circus Factory Summer Student Showcase, The Circus Factory, 7:30pm; The students at The Circus Factory have been working hard and are now ready to step into the spotlight and showcase their skills. Tickets €15.

The Cosy Edit, Kóve Studios Douglas, 10am; Head to Kóve Studios for a signature ALIGN Pilates class, followed by a skincare demo led by a skin expert featuring Cosy Girls Club’s bestselling tools — which you’ll also get to take home. The Hit List, BBC1, 5.45pm: Rochelle and Marvin Humes are clearly hitting all the right notes because they’re back with the eighth series of the music quiz.

Sunday

The Sunday Game Live, RTÉ2, 2.15pm: Those who don't have tickets for Croker might want to tune in for the All-Ireland hurling final between Cork and Tipperary, throw-in 3.30pm.

Streaming

Untamed, Netflix: Eric Bana stars in this six-part series set in the Yosemite National Park, as a member of the investigative services branch of the National Parks Service, hunting for a killer who knows the area just as well as him.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Paramount+: A bold venture back into the universe created by Gene Roddenberry, with the third season of this hit series, set a decade before the adventures of Captain Kirk, Mr Spock and co.
