Last year’s beaten finalists Nemo Rangers have booked their place in the decider of the PharmaCare Seandún U21A Football Championship where they will meet holders Douglas.

After a promising start by Glanmire, where they got a goal and the game’s only two-pointer from play, Nemo Rangers got three goals, including a penalty, in the second quarter. Nemo Rangers converted a second penalty after the interval, but Glanmire pointed a free from outside the Nemo Rangers 40-metre arc.

Glanmire opened the scoring with a two-pointer from play by Harry Jones, two minutes after the throw-in. This was followed by a pointed free by Billy O’Mahony. Glanmire continued to have Nemo Rangers pinned back as Darragh O’Connor set up Tom Flynn for the game’s opening goal, which doubled Glanmire’s advantage to 1-3 to 0-0.

The tide turned in Nemo Rangers’ favour, as Conor Yelland, Morgan Corkery and Matthew Keenan each scored unanswered points. Dara O’Sullivan also chipped in with a free, to leave two points between the sides.

Glanmire responded with a point from Brian Galvin midway through the opening half, but Nemo Rangers reduced the margin to a single point, as Cian Power set up Corkery for Nemo Rangers’ first goal.

O’Mahony converted his second free for Glanmire, but Nemo Rangers took a grip on proceedings. Liam Healy got their second goal. This was followed by Dara O’Sullivan’s first penalty.

O’Mahony responded with two points for Glanmire. This left the half-time scoreline reading 3-4 to 1-7 in favour of Nemo Rangers.

Glanmire started the second half with three points by O’Mahony. Nemo Rangers replied with a point by Healy. Dara O’Sullivan pointed his second free. This was followed by Dara O’Sullivan’s second penalty in the 41st minute, which left Nemo Rangers leading by 4-6 to 1-10.

O’Connor added Glanmire’s second two-pointer from a free, to reduce the deficit to three points.

Glanmire outscored Nemo Rangers by 0-7 to 0-5 in the final quarter.
