Wilton United continued their impressive form with a big victory over Rockmount in the Daly Industrial Supplies U17 Premier League last Saturday morning and they were also victories for Castleview and Carrigtwohill United in the same division, as it seems to be a very competitive league again this season.

Also there was an excellent victory for Carrigaline United in the U19 League, while Corkbeg and Mogeely had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Wilton welcomed inform Rockmount to Pat Bowdren Park, however, they led by two goals to nil at halftime courtesy of goals by Jack Hayes. They increased their lead 3-0 through Noah O’Callaghan in the 56th minute and Hayes completed his hat-trick in the 74th minute for Wilton to go four up. Joshua Mulroy then got in on the scoring act ten minutes from full time to inflict Rockmount’s the first league defeat 5-0.

Elsewhere Fermoy entertained Castleview at Carrig Park and it was City side who took the lead 1-0 when Lee Coughlan scored in the 34th minute. The View then went two goals to the good when Callum Healy scored in the 61st minute to lead, however, Fermoy reduced the deficit 2-1 in the 81st minute through Brandon Slattery, but it was’t enough to deny the View.

There was a big East Cork local derby in the same competition when Midleton took on Carrigtwohill United at Knockgriffin Park.

It was the visitors who took an early one goal lead through Brayan Wiecek and Nathan Joseph increased their lead 2-0 three minutes from the halftime break.

Pablo Sanz got a goal back for the home side from the penalty spot to trail 2-1, but another goal from Wiecek in the 75th minute sealed all three points for a 3-1 for Carrigtwohill.

Carrigaline United traveled to Knockgriffin last Saturday morning and came away with an excellent 5-3 victory to go top of the U19 League table.

Their hotshot Danny McSorley put them one up in the opening five minutes, however, Fionn Wenham and an own goal by Liam Walsh had the Magpies leading 2-1 at the break. Carrigaline United levelled the game 2-2 seven minutes from the restart through Mathew O’Connor and then goals from McSorley, Jamie Murphy and Daniel O’Mahony had them leading 5-2, however Owen Noonan did grab a consolation goal on the stroke of full time for Midleton to reduce arrears 5-3.

There was a local derby in East Cork in the same division where Corkbeg entertained Mogeely at the Corkbeg Sports and Social Club.

Evan Murphy put Corkbeg one nil up in the 20th minute, however, the game was level 1-1 a minute later when Jack Clifford scored for Mogeely. Mark O’Mahony then gave Mogeely a 2-1 lead in the 61st minute, but they were pegged back five minutes later when Evan Forbes scored for the home side to level the game 2-2.
