Cork GAA sharpshooters: Grantas Bucinskas hits Senior A summit as Chris Óg Jones stretches clear in PIFC

The group stages of the Cork football championships have reached their conclusion, and yet, in the Premier Senior FC, both the overall and from-play scoring charts are still spearheaded by Avondhu’s Mark Lenahan.

The podium spots are no longer solely comprised of Avondhu shooters though; St Finbarr’s Steven Sherlock moved up to second and now sits two points behind Lenahan, while Ben Twomey remains third in the overall table, ahead of Nemo Rangers’ Ross Corkery.

Twomey holds second in the from-play for another week, with Éanna Desmond’s 0-15 for Carrigaline the highest of any club player in the top grade, and enough to rank him third.

At Senior A, Grantas Bucinskas heads the overall chart for Kanturk with 3-13 after overtaking Matthew Bradley, while second place is split three ways between Daniel Goulding of Éire Óg, Carbery Rangers’ Daragh Hayes and Cill na Martra’s Shane Ó Duinnín.

It’s Hayes who leads the from-play scoring with 1-15, while Bucinskas and Ó Duinnín complete the top three.

At Premier Intermediate level, Chris Óg Jones still holds a healthy lead at the top of the chart with 4-18 – all but one point from play – ensuring he fronts that listing, too. Castletownbere’s Fintan Fenner is currently second in the overall scoring with 1-24, four points clear of Naomh Abán’s Ed Ó Mír in third, with the latter second in from-play scoring.

Fermoy’s Ben Twomey sits third in the PIFC from-play scoring, while Nemo Rangers’ intermediate goalkeeper Donagh O’Leary is ninth in the overall scoring after picking up 0-14 in placed balls across the three group games.
