Kilmurry knock out Naomh Abán in Tom Creedon Cup

Kilmurry booked their spot in the semi-final of the 2026 Tom Creedon Cup, after an impressive 10-point victory over Naomh Abán in Macroom on Saturday.

Assuming firm control of the contest in the opening half, Brian Harte’s Kilmurry troops built on their impressive recent form in the 2026 Cork IAFC and ahead of a crucial few weeks in prospect.

Kilmurry will face Castletownbere in the Tom Creedon Cup semi-final, with Macroom v Gabriel Rangers the other last-four clash.

Naomh Abán opened the scoring with Ciaran Ó Luasa pointing. But it was all one-way Kilmurry traffic for the remainder of the opening half.

Denis O'Mullane blasted the ball to the net with a rocket after three minutes.

Kilmurry then landed a second goal six minutes later, as Stephen O’Donoghue finished impressively from close range.

By the 20th minute, the Kilmurry purple scoring patch was continuing, as O’Donoghue landed a monster of a two-pointer, which was added by scores from Sean O'Leary and Thomas Collins.

Naomh Abán then introduced their most potent attacking weapon of them all in Ed Ó Mír into the battlefield, who was key for the remainder of the contest and ended proceedings with 0-12 to his name.

Kilmurry, who led 2-10 to 0-4 at half-time, kept the scoreboard ticking over in the second half, with O’Leary scoring on 36 mins.

Naomh Abán continued to grow in momentum as Ó Mír led the charge, including a cracking two-pointer midway through the second half.

But another late attacking burst from Kilmurry, that included another point from the impressive O’Donoghue, was the icing on the cake of a productive outing.
