Division 1 reports:

The final of Division 2 of the RedFM Hurling League will be an all-east Cork affair after Erin’s Own and Bride Rovers secured promotion and a place in the decider.

Erin’s Own went into the weekend top of the table with six wins from seven and a 1-21 to 1-18 victory against the already-relegated Ballymartle confirmed their progression to the final and a place in Division 1 in 2027.

Two points behind the Caherlag side were Bride Rovers and, with third-placed Newcestown having lost away to Newtownshandrum in midweek, the Rathcormac/Bartlemy outfit knew that victory at home to Ballincollig would earn a second straight promotion and they achieved that on a 1-19 to 1-15 scoreline.

Newtown’s win against Newcestown was 0-23 to 1-12, with Jamie Coughlan and Turlough O’Neill the main scorers. Seán O’Donovan got 1-2 for Newcestown while Edmund Kenneally had six points.

At the other end of the table, Carrigaline picked up a vital win as they beat Na Piarsaigh by 2-28 to 2-21.

The sides had been locked on five points each prior to the game but this result, with Brian Kelleher prominent for Carrigaline, means they will be safe if Ballincollig take anything from their last match, against Newtownshandrum.

In such a scenario, the worst-case situation for Carrig would be to be level on points with Piarsaigh if the city side overcome Kanturk but they would have head-to-head advantage.

By contrast, if the northsiders win and Ballincollig lose, scoring difference would come into play as they drew their match against each other.

Matters remain exceedingly tight in Division 3, where Blarney, Courcey Rovers and Ballinhassig are all on 12 points while Inniscarra on nine have a game in hand on the top three and could still make the final too.

Russell Rovers’ win away to neighbours Lisgoold was their first of the campaign and gave them a stay of execution, with their opponents in danger along with Castlelyons – who have games in hand – while Fermoy are not fully safe yet, either.

Kilworth made it eight wins from eight in Division 4 as they beat Mallow, ensuring promotion and a place in the final. Watergrasshill or Aghabullogue will join them while Ballyhea have been relegation. The other team to go down will be one of Kildorrery, Bishopstown or Blackrock.

Cloyne’s Division 5 win over Tracton secured a place in the final, where they will face Dungourney or Midleton.
