Erin’s Own moved into a share of the lead in Division 2 of the RedFM Hurling League, with a game in hand, following victory over pace-setters Bride Rovers on Saturday.
The visitors enjoyed a 3-14 to 0-17 win in Rathcormac, inflicting a first defeat on home side, as Conor Lenihan scored two goals with Shane Irwin also on target. Adam Walsh accounted for nine of the Rovers’ points.
The sides are on ten points each, Erin’s Own with six games played and Bride Rovers seven, while Newcestown remain in third on nine, having beaten Carrigaline by 0-24 to 1-12. Richard O’Sullivan was the main score-getter for the victors, with Colm O’Donovan and Edmund Kenneally also on target.
Kanturk are a point further back in third, having beaten Ballincollig by 1-25 to 0-23 on Friday.
Colin Walsh's goal put the Duhallow side 1-8 to 0-6 up after 15 minutes and he finished with 1-3 while Cian Clernon grabbed 0-3. The duo also earned a number of the 10 frees Liam O'Keeffe clinically dispatched.

Mark Oldham and David O'Sullivan landed excellent first-half points for Ballincollig but Kanturk led 1-16 to 0-12 at half-time, with defenders Darren Browne and Mark Healy rock solid.
The visitors rallied as subs Eoin Dwyer and Tadhg Murphy clipped two points each to trim the gap, 1-18 to 0-18, but, having been reduced to 14 men, they could not get closer.
Adam Willis, Ballincollig's top-scorer with 0-4, and Theo Morgan, kept the scoreboard ticking but Kanturk keeper Grantas Bucinskas denied them the goal they needed.
Ballymartle’s defeat to Newtownshandrum means that they are relegated, with the other spot likely to be between Na Piarsaigh and Carrigaline, who are both on five points. Piarsaigh were beaten by Valley Rovers.
In Division 3, Blarney’s 1-23 to 3-12 loss to Inniscarra allowed Courcey Rovers to move into a share of the lead on ten points with their 1-22 to 2-16 victory against Lisgoold.
Bandon could have gone top on their own but lost to Fermoy and so they are level with Inniscarra on nine points while Ballinhassig and Éire Óg are each on eight and still in with a chance of promotion.
