GAA: Louth shock Dublin with victory in Croke Park, Mayo survive late comeback against Monaghan

Louth have stunned Dublin in round one of the All-Ireland Football Championship with a 4-18 to 1-24 victory in Croke Park.

Con O'Callaghan returned from injury for Dublin, and his goal helped Dublin to a 1-12 to 1-6 lead at the interval, with Kieran McArdle scoring Louth's first goal.

Two goals in the space of a minute from James Maguire turned the game on its head in the 45th minute, with Louth taking a 3-10 to 1-13 lead.

The sides swapped the lead several times over the remaining 25 minutes, with Cormac Costello scoring seven points for Dublin.

It looked like it was heading for extra-time before Craig Lennon scored Louth's fourth goal in the dying moments to secure a famous victory and advance.

Mayo survived a late comeback against Monaghan as they were 1-24 to 2-20 winners in Clones to advance to Tuesday's draw in round 2A.

Kobe McDoanld scored Mayo's only goal in the first half as they looked in control of the game, with a 1-17 to 0-9 lead.

However, Monaghan threw everything at Andy Moran's side in the second half, with Mayo goalkeeper Jack Livingston making several key saves.

Monaghan eventually got past him, as Bobby McCaul scored their first goal to get their comeback on track.

They followed it up with their second through Stephen Mooney with four minutes remaining to reduce the gap to two points.

In a nervous ending, Ryan O'Donoghue scored the last of eight points to ensure Mayo advance to 2A.

Clare have been crowned Under 20 All-Ireland hurling champions, after a dominant second half against Galway.

Goals from Thomas O'Connor, Marco Cleary and Jamie Moylan helped the Banner to a 4-20 to 2-16 win over the Tribesmen at Semple Stadium.

It's their first title at that level since 2014.
