Sean T of Griffin United produced another sparking display of running to win the Northern Hunt Senior draghunt at the Haunted House on Sunday.

The John and Sean O’Sullivan trained hound is very good on this terrain and he showed his class to cross the tape ahead of the ultra-consistent Not now Al of Clogheen from the Gary, Joe and Nicole kennel.

Ger and Jennifer Kenneally will be pleased with Zodiac Jack who ran a season best to secure third ticket.

There was natural elation in the winning camp after the draghunt with trainer John O’Sullivan praising his champion hound.

“It was another clinical performance from Sean T but look its early days to be getting carried away and we will just put in our preparations and get ready for next week,” said O’Sullivan.

There was a popular win in the Senior Maiden draghunt when the James and Joy Green Kerry Pike/Fair Hill harriers trained Starman’s Son took the honours crossing the tape ahead of Not now Betty from Clogheen and Casey Jack of Southern/Carrigaline harriers.

The Puppy meeting at the same venue on Saturday proved to be a success and what a day it proved for Shanakiel Harriers trainer Mary Barrett when her charge Charlotte’s Lass landed the spoils.

Mayfield trainers Denis Wall and Denis Dowling will be pleased with Anyone on the Phone who finished a close up third with Storm, Wolfe Tone Boy and Mossy’s Diamond concluding the ticketing hounds.

The winning trainer in the company of her children Lewis and Charlotte was naturally elated with her first win of the season.

“We are delighted to get our first win and the manner she came to the call was very satisfying as there were a few hounds in with a chance on the finish,” said Mary Barrett.

In the Puppy maiden draghunt it was another good day for the O’Herlihy family of Fair Hill as Fireball won his second draghunt of the season.

After another good finish the winner came home in style to win from the Shanakiel harriers duo of Naoi’s Girl and Black Paddy.

The Michael Heffernan memorial meeting will take place next weekend at a venue to be confirmed later in the week.
