Douglas Hall U19 side add the U19 League 1 title to the Daly Cup and U19 League Cup titles
The Douglas Hall side that drew 2-2 with Lakewood Athletic in Ovens last Saturday to win the Daly Industrial Supplies U19 League 1 title.
As we are coming to the business end of all Daly Industrial Supplies Cork Youth League and cup competitions in all grades and there were plenty of important and exciting fixtures played out last Saturday.
Firstly, congratulations to Douglas Hall U19 side who added the U19 League 1 League title to the Daly Cup and U19 League Cup when they got the vital point that they needed when they drew with Lakewood Athletic 2-2 in Ovens on Saturday night.
Lakewood took an early 1-0 lead when Steven Holmes gave a peach of a pass for Dylan Brown to score in the 23rd minute.
Holmes then gave his side a two goal advantage 2-0 when he hit the back of the net in the 66th minute.
However, Douglas Hall’s hotshot Eoin Gibson pegged a goal back three minutes later to reduce the deficit 2-1 and when William Banks scored in the 76th minute the game was level 2-2 and that was enough for the Hall to complete a remarkable season to lift the League title.
Elsewhere, in the U19 League 1 Division, Leeds traveled to Madden Park to play the hosts Kinsale.
The Northside team raced into an early 3-0 lead courtesy of goals from Adam Mannix and two from Alan Falat.
The home side pulled a goal back six minutes from the restart through Kevin Carpenter to trail 3-1, however, Zac Forde scored in the 60th minute for Leeds to restore their three goal advantage 4-1.
And then Mark Ngengebula added two more goals in a six minute spell for Leeds to run out 6-1 winners.

In the U19 League 1A Riverstown made sure that the title will come to the final game next weekend when Carrigaline United host Clonakilty at Ballea Park.
Riverstown finished their campaign with a superb 5-2 victory away to Carrigaline United at Ballea Park last Saturday night.
Darragh Barrett was in great scoring form as he netted all of Riverstown goals with Aidan Cotter and James Crowley added the two efforts for Carrigaline.
Riverstown are now on top of the table on 28 points and Clon are two points behind, so they will need to beat Carrigaline next Sunday to win the title, because anything less Riverstown will be crowned champions.
The U17 League 1 Division will also come to one game next weekend after Avondale United beat Fermoy by three goals to one at Avondale Park. After a cagey opening half that saw Ronan O’Grady miss a spot kick the game was level 0-0 at half time.
The Dales went in front 1-0 in ten minutes from the restart when Sebastian Dubkiewicz netted and he doubled their lead 2-0 in the 58th minute. Fermoy pulled a goal back in the 69th minute through Steven Barrett, but Brooklynz Gracino scored in the 80th minute to give Avondale all three points.
So the game between Avondale and Blarney United next Saturday at Avondale Park will decide the outcome of the title race.
If Avondale of Blarney win, then either of them will be champions, however, if the game finishes a draw then they will be a three way playoff between Fermoy, Avondale and Blarney to decide who will win the title.
It’s equally as close in the U17 Premier League with Midleton currently on top with Douglas Hall and College Corinthians sitting in second and third place respectively.
The Hall closed the gap on the leaders last Saturday when they defeated Kinsale 3-0 at Madden Park with their goals coming from Jamie O’Halloran (2) and Elvis Alade.
The Hall will play Corinthians next Saturday at Castletreasure and will need to win the game before they face Midleton at Moneygourney for a winner takes all fixture the following week.
Elsewhere, in the U17 League 1, Kanturk and Leeside United played out a triller at Gortgenard as the hosts raced a 3-0 lead with two goals from Milosz Florczak and another by Sam Lynch.
Aaron Lynch pulled a goal back for Leesidejust before halftime, however, they came out for the second half and added five more Oisin Valley, Conor Padden (2), James Kelly and another from Lynch. Kanturk did score again through Ronan Murphy but they lost out 6-4.

App?
