Munster GAA has confirmed that the Munster Senior Football Championship trophy will be named after the late Páidí Ó Sé of Kerry.
The decision was confirmed following a meeting of the Munster Council on Tuesday night.
Ó Sé, an eight-time All-Ireland winner as a player and a two-time All-Ireland winning-manager with Kerry, is remembered not only for his extraordinary achievements on the field but also for his charisma, leadership, and deep love for football. He died in 2012, aged 57.
The newly titled Páidí Ó Sé Munster Senior Football Championship trophy will be presented for the first time under its new name in the upcoming provincial season. He won 11 Munster titles as a player and six as a manager.

There’s a possibility that rivals Kerry and Cork will meet in the final even though there are a few hurdles to overcome for that to happen.
The Rebels face Limerick in the Munster quarter-final on Sunday, April 12 at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh (2pm).
