Division 1 reports:

Uibh Laoire made it two wins from the first two games in the McCarthy Insurance Group Division 2 Football League on Sunday.

It was Round 2 with plenty of action over the last few days from Division 1 all the way down to Division 7.

In Division 1, there were wins for St Finbarr’s, Cill na Martra, Castlehaven, Clonakilty and Newcestown with reports on all of those games attached to the start of this article.

Uibh Laoire followed up their 13-point away success over St Michael’s with a comfortable home victory over O’Donovan Rossa, 1-14 to 0-7.

Cathal Vaughan was to the fore with 0-8 (2 2pt). Jack Sweeney netted the goal.

The Muskerry outfit are the only team with a 100% record after just two matches in this division underlining the competitive nature of it.

Elsewhere, St Michael’s picked up their first points of the season with a hard-earned 1-16 to 2-9 victory at hosts Castletownbere, who remain pointless.

Experienced campaigner Eoghan Buckley was the main scorer with 0-7 (3 2pt, 0-1 f). Rory O’Shaugnessy kicked 1-1.

Cork senior footballer Conor Corbett played his part in Clyda Rovers recovering from defeat last time out to get the better of Valley Rovers in Mourneabbey.

The Avondhu side won 1-7 to 0-8 with Kevin Graham’s goal proving key. Corbett landed 0-3 (1 2pt f).

Fiachra Lynch has endured a challenging start to his player-manager role with Valley’s as they suffer a second loss on the bounce.

Ballincollig are up and running in Division 2 as they look to be in the promotion mix this year. They defeated Béal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh on home soil, 1-15 to 2-10.

Seán Dore, Dara Dorgan and Darragh O’Mahony were chief point scorers for the Collig with Jack Murray bagging the goal.

Cian Dorgan came off the bench and played a very influential role when introduced.

Finally from Division 2, Dohenys and Carrigaline couldn’t be separated in Dunmanway after an entertaining 1-14 draw.

Adam O’Donovan resecured a draw for Dohenys with a goal a minute into added time in the second half.

In Division 3, former Kerry boss Peter Keane has his first points as Aghabullogue interim boss after they defeated Rockchapel in Coachford. Once again Matthew Bradley was the main man with 0-8 including two two-pointers in a 0-17 to 0-11 success.

Charlie Long, Michael Cahalane and Mark Sugrue contributed heavily to Bandon’s 1-14 to 3-5 win away at Newmarket.

Mallow won at home against Bishopstown with Eoin Kelleher hitting 1-4 (1-0 pen, 0-2 f) in a 2-12 to 2-6 triumph.

Kanturk had an eye-catching victory over Naomh Abán in Kanturk, 3-10 to 0-11. Grantas Bucinskas netted two goals while goalkeeper Ronan Cashman scored 1-2 (1-0 pen, 1 2pt f).

Finally, Fermoy had six points to spare over visitors Kilshannig 1-11 to 0-8. Páidí de Róiste kicked 1-3 (1 2pt).
