Former Cork footballer Colm O’Driscoll has had his request for a transfer from Tadhg MacCarthaigh to O’Donovan Rossa turned down by the Cork County Board.

O’Driscoll's name was on the list of proposed transfers for the upcoming season, but it was rejected at the monthly meeting with delegates at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Tuesday night.

The West Cork native, who netted a last-minute winner which secured All-Ireland success for the Cork U21 footballers in 2009, had his address down as Ballydehob.

Tadhg MacCarthaigh objected.

O'Driscoll has the option of appealing the decision to Munster GAA.

Either way, he's set to play for O'Donovan Rossa from July given he wouldn't have played for 96 weeks at that stage.
