Three rounds of seven have been completed in Division 1A of the National Hurling League, and Cork are the next side to receive the bye week, meaning the Rebels won’t be in action until March 1 when they take on Kilkenny at Nowlan Park.
And, after a weekend where Cork scored 0-29, Darragh Fitzgibbon and William Buckley have joined Alan Connolly and Shane Barrett to climb into the top 10 scorers, giving Cork greater representation than any other team.
At the top still is Reuben Halloran, the Waterford free-taker was on song once again as they defeated Offaly. He took his tally to 1-36 from the three games, 18 points ahead of nearest challenger Jason Forde.
Forde remains second even after his sending off against Cork last weekend, while Offaly’s Adam Screeney remains third after scoring 0-10 versus Waterford.

Eoin Cody of Kilkenny drops to fourth, while Limerick’s Aidan O’Connor climbs to fifth. Sixth and seventh go to Alan Connolly and Darragh Fitzgibbon respectively, both players who starred in Cork’s win over Tipp.
Shane Barrett, the other red card recipient in that Cork-Tipp clash, falls to eighth where he’s tied with Jake Morris, while Cathal Mannion drops from joint third to joint tenth after Galway’s bye week. His 0-10 leaves him tied with William Buckley (1-7).
The from-play chart is also dominated by red jerseys, with six of the top 10 being Cork players. The aforementioned Buckley takes third, behind joint leaders and teammates Barrett and Fitzgibbon, who have both scored 0-11 from play each in Cork’s first three games.
Eoin Cody, also with 1-7 from play, joins Buckley in third, while Forde falls from first to fifth, still with 2-3 from play. He shares that place with Alan Connolly, as the Blackrock forward has scored 1-6 from play so far.

The other two Cork reps to claim spots in the top 10 are Brian Hayes and Diarmuid Healy. Both forwards have only played twice, but have both put up a total of seven from play, Hayes with 2-1 and Healy with 0-7.
