The wait is over and preseason is complete as Cork GAA fans return to SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh this weekend for a league double-header against Cavan and Waterford.

There are three home games in each code, though the Meath clash on February 22 is down for Páric Uí Rinn. The league finals, if Cork make them, are on March 28-29 for football and April 4-5 in hurling.

Championship throws in mid-April, with the hurlers in Thurles on April 18-19 before Limerick land on Leeside a week later. Ben O'Connor's side are away to Waterford and conclude their campaign at home to Clare on May 23-24.

It's Sunday, June 7 for the Munster final and if Cork return to defend their crown against Limerick or Tipp they'd be hosts based on previous home and away arrangements.

On the football front, Cork avoided Kerry in the Munster draw, so they'll be at home to Limerick on April 11-12 to earn a semi-final against Tipp or Waterford. Reaching the Munster final is imperative as there is a revamped format to the All-Ireland football series, instead of the group phase, and the eight provincial finalists have home advantage in the opener.

The new structure still involves the top 16, based on league positions and counties reaching the provincial finals.

The Munster finalists will host their opponents on May 23-24. With Cork v Clare in the hurling on that weekend, it's potentially a hectic couple of days in the Páirc.

Across June 13-14, the eight winners (2A) and the eight losers (2B) from Round 1 will be placed in separate sections and first out of the hat gets home advantage.

The winning counties in round 2A go straight to the All-Ireland quarter-final. Round 3 then sees the four losing teams from round 2A and winners from 2B paired up with four counties getting home advantage.

The quarter-finals across the last weekend of June will be at neutral venues, with the four winning teams from Round 2A against the Round 3 winners.
