Jordan Tynan scored a brace as Corkbeg beat Waterloo in AUL League one game
The Corkbeg side that had a 4-3 victory over Waterloo in their League 1 clash at Whitegate.
The Loo’s defensive frailties proved costly in the end, but that is not to take anything away from Corkbeg’s victory after an excellent team performance earned them maximum points in what was an energy-sapping affair.
After a busy start from both sides, Aaron Buckley flicked over his marker’s head, but he hurried his effort which flashed wide.
And when Jordan Ryan’s cross reached Alan Hogan, he failed to get a touch while unmarked near goal.
Jordan Ryan produced another delivery after that which came for the available Sean Williams, but a timely interception by Shane O’Shea saved the day.
Ronan O’Brien’s effort from distance was dealt with competently by Ray Savage before Oisin Shanahan fired wide from a favourable position at the other end.
A chance fell for the Loo soon after when Scott Shine played a neat one on for Liam O’Leary, but he drilled disappointingly wide.

Nice build up play followed from the Beg when Darragh O’ Mahony dinked one on for Alan Hogan, who fired an accurate pass in for Sean Williams, but the ball seemed to have spun away from his run and a chance went.
The Beg had a chance to nose in front when they were awarded a penalty on 15 minutes, but from the spot, Jordan Ryan was denied when Conor O’Regan produced a fine save to maintain parity.
Minutes later, Jordan Ryan’s free kick arrived for Mark Hogan who grazed the bar with a firm header.
The ice was broken though on 18 minutes when from a corner, Tariq Tynan headed against the post and when it broke for Oisin Shanahan, he helped home the opener from close range.
Corkbeg seemed to have the upper hand now at this stage as Darragh O’Mahony blazed over with his effort outside the box before Sean Williams scooped over from Jordan Ryan’s free kick.
But, the hosts doubled their advantage when a delivery from Alan Hogan deceived everyone, including Conor O’Regan as it nestled in the net on 25 minutes.
A response from the Loo saw them create a half-chance, but from Jack Homan’s assist, Liam O’Leary fired wide.
A lovely ball then from Mark Hogan was measured for Sean Williams, but his effort from a favourable position lacked conviction as Conor O’Regan picked with ease.
Then, O’Regan was brought into action when he had to save with his left foot from Jordan Ryan’s stinging free kick.
Waterloo did peg one back when Jack O’Keeffe helped on for Scott Shine, who took a steadying touch before rifling an unstoppable finish, high into the Beg’s net on 43.
The Loo produced some nice improvised play which started with Liam O’Leary before Jack Homan forced Ray Saveage to save from his forceful low effort.
Then, Jordan Ryan’s chipped cross reached the unmarked Jordan Tynan, who missed a gilt-edge chance when he failed to find the target with his header from close range.

With just four minutes into the second period, Jordan Tynan got his first when he controlled from Jordan Ryan’s assist before producing a finish of sheer class to hand the Beg a 3-1 advantage.
Then, defensive frailties cost Waterloo again when Jordan Tynan was allowed space and time to rifle another fine finish home and make it 4-1 on 63.
The Loo refused to be bowed though and after Sean Williams fired wide at one end, Ronan O’Brien unleashed an unstoppable effort that torpedoed into the top corner from a free kick to make it 2-4 on 66.
Jordan Tynan came so close to claiming a hat-trick when from Mark Hogan’s cross, he leapt highest to send his header clattering off the butt of the upright.
Waterloo pressed and pressed as they chased the game, but despite getting a third through David Cremin, Corkbeg held on in the end.
